Academy Classes
It is the responsibility of every instructor and student to follow all MFRCS policy and procedures and MFRI Rules and Regulations with the highest standard of professionalism and safety - in the field as well as within all educational and training settings. Both instructor and student must model good character, personal integrity, and maturity in all aspects of their professional behavior.
Instructors
General Responsibilities
An instructor plays a vital role in the training and certification of career and volunteer personnel. This individual is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the initial training of all firefighting related skills. This position provides administrative support from class start to finish.
Specific Responsibilities
- Plans lectures and activities that meet the academic objectives of the course syllabus
- Delivers cognitive and psychomotor courses that meet national, state, and local standards
- Administers written and practical exams ensuring fulfillment of program standards
- Coordinate training and testing regarding MCFRS and MFRI standards

Students
General Responsibilities
Students play a vital role by positively contributing to a safe and effective learning environment and consistently exhibiting and maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity.
Specific Responsibilities
- 1 Week before each class be certain to complete ALL 3 Steps noted on your Welcome Letter
- Be punctual
- Dress appropriately
- Bring something for note taking
- Arrive to learn
