The Dickerson Area Facilities Implementation Group (DAFIG) addresses community and environmental issues and concerns pertaining to the operations of Montgomery County’s solid waste facilities located in the Dickerson area. These facilities include the Resource Recovery Facility, the Yard Trim Composting Facility, properties originally purchased for the Site 2 landfill, and property associated with the original Matthews Farm. DAFIG provides input to the Environmental Management System.

Governance

County Boards, Committees, and Commissions

DAFIG is one of the more than 75 County Boards, Committees, and Commissions (BCC's). BCC's are advisory in nature. The County Executive and County Council encourage people who live and work in Montgomery County to become actively involved in matters affecting the quality of life in Montgomery County. Appointments to DAFIG are made by the County Executive with confirmation by the County Council. Members serve three-year terms and are not compensated. DAFIG meets four times per year: March, June, September, December. Meetings are held quarterly in March, June, September, and December on the second Tuesday of the month. All meetings are open to the public.
